COLUMBUS, Ohio -- November 22, 2002 -- State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company's board of directors today elected Donald Bender and David Dalton assistant vice presidents. Bender joined State Auto in 1965 and served in several management capacities before being named the State Auto Insurance Companies' legislative affairs representative in 1986; he was named an assistant secretary of the Companies in 1989. Dalton joined the State Auto Insurance Companies in January 2001 as internal audit manager. Previously he was senior manager of internal audit and consulting for Qwest Communications International and assistant vice president and audit manager for Huntington Bancshares.
